Spending her high school years at Frank McCourt High School in Manhattan, New York, Keisha had acquired many different skills that helped her developed as a young adult. Within her high school years, Keisha attended programs such as the National Young Leadership Conference (NYSLC) which was stationed in Albany, New York, Gear Up (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduates Program), Girl Scouts (11+ years) and so forth. Through these programs, she learned leadership skills, how to cope with conflict, be a person others can look up to along with other skills that associate with the program.
These acquired skills had benefited Keisha throughout her studies and outside issues. Collaboration comes easy to her as it was a required aspect of attending Frank McCourt High School and although it was hard at first, she managed through with it and like the thought of it that it became a norm to her. As a Girl Scout for the past eleven years, she managed to complete the program without fail, completing the levels from Brownies to Ambassadors. Since her dedication towards the kids are so strong, she is currently in the process of becoming an official adult volunteer at the Girl Scout troops in her community.
As her high school years came to an end, Keisha had made the final decision of becoming a student at Queensborough Community College located in Queens, NY to get a fresh start and a feeling of college. Her future for her is undetermined right now to her although she has a great passion for Digital Art & Design, which is also the major that she is currently studying and hopes to work for a major animation company.
In the end, Keisha Watkin has set goals for herself due to the increasing amount of help and motivation from her peers along with the teachers at Frank McCourt High School who were more like family to her. The success of her life lies within her own hands and she is determined that it goes down a positive road instead of a negative. Her passion, dedication towards the activities in her life has gotten her a head start on what is to come and what it is to enjoy in life.
